Training of knowledge management, Record keeping, Documentation, and Data analysis.

From February 2–6, 2025 the Association of Local Governments (ALGAPL conducted a five-day training program in Garowe for its staff and representatives from the ministries. Ministry of Interior , ministry of Planning, ministry of Finance, ministry of Education, and public workers, as well as participants from IMC and PDRC. The training aimed to equip participants with the essential skills in managing records, improving documentation practices, strengthening knowledge management, and utilizing data analytics for informed decision making.
Sessions covered key topics such as proper archiving, writing meeting minutes and office memos, methodologies for data analytics, and strategies for knowledge sharing. The facilitator guided participants through practical exercises, and group discussions. participants actively engaged in discussions and group work, highlighting challenges and opportunities in implementing these practices with in their institutions.
The training was officially opened by the Executive Director of ALGAPL and the Director of the local government institute (LGI). who emphasized the importance of these skills in enhancing institutional efficiency and governance. participants included representatives from ALGAPL, Puntland ministries, the champion office, and Garowe Local Government. The program was organized with support of UN-HABITAT, which maintains a closer partnership with ALGAPL.
