Garoowe, 8-10 July, 2024: ALGAPL the local governments organization have been trained to strengthen their capacity. which has been given to the office staff. A new director Mohamed Abdi Mohamud was recently appointed to the organization. the VNG international did the training, ALGAPL and VNG are two joint ventures serving the local governments of Puntland and the Netherlands.
Since the VNG organization has been around for a while, it is string in power and works with ALGAPL to strengthen it, so that it can truly represent the interest of Puntland local governments. the training was provided by an expert specializing in the development of local government organizations, who has worked in many countries. the training took place at the office of Puntland local government association.
