The Association of Local Governments Authorities of Puntland (ALGAPL) is a collaborative platform that supports local governments in Puntland to enhance service delivery, strengthen governance, and share knowledge and best practices across districts.
DEGMO Magazine aims to promote effective local governance and decentralization in Puntland by sharing best practices, highlighting municipal achievements and innovations, encouraging policy dialogue and reform, strengthening knowledge-sharing among member districts, and amplifying the voice of local governments.
1. Call for contribution
ALGAPL Magazine is seeking submissions for its upcoming issue focused on strengthening local governance and decentralization in Puntland. We invite local government officials, policymakers, researchers, development partners, practitioners, and community leaders to contribute their expertise, insights, experiences, and analysis on issues that advance effective municipal governance, service delivery, innovation, and institutional development across Puntland’s districts.

- Fiscal decentralization, local revenue, and public financial management
- District planning, budgeting, and institutional strengthening
- Service delivery, urban management, and infrastructure development
- Transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement
- Gender and youth inclusion in local governance
- Local Economic development (LED)
- Climate resilience, DRM and environmental sustainability
- Digital transformation in municipalities
- Case studies and best practices from Puntland districts
3. Types of Contributions
We welcome feature articles and case studies (500–800 words), opinion pieces and research summaries (400–500 words).
